My small home photography studio is based in ham, Plymouth and is designed with little people in mind and is perfect for small families who want a more relaxed homely feel to their photography session, my photo studio is designed with little ones in mind, from newborn babies, to sitters, to walking toddlers, I recommend my studio for small families with children up to the age of 3.
I want it to be a place that feels cozy and warm so that you will feel at home cuddling and playing with your family and we can capture all those real, authentic moments.
Take a look inside.
OPENING HOURS My studio is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30 to 5pm, with evening sessions at special request.
What is a lifestyle studio?
As with all my photography sessions, my lifestyle studio is more prompt based rather than posing clients to gain specific pictures, I like to keep my portrait sessions very relaxed.
As an example I may ask a mum to sit in my white tub chair with older baby on lap and play games with their son or daughter, I watch the interaction between mum and child and capture moments that are unique and beautiful to them, the child may play peek-a-boo or cuddle, read a book or play pat-a-cake, but whatever they do, I am not posing them but more guiding them into the next relaxed and genuine interaction to gain natural pictures you will cherish.
My photo sessions generally last up to an hour and can be as relaxed as it would be in your own home, without worrying about whether your home is good enough for a photo session, It is set up in a style that would be similar to that of a home, with a bed and a chair to relax in, a stool for the nearly walkers, rugs for the sitters. I create an environment that is relaxed and friendly where you can take your shoes off and put your feet up and enjoy our time together.
What should I wear to my session?
My studio is a very simple set up, and that includes the clothing. Light and airy clothes are best, neutral colour's or soft pastels can help create this feel. Whether you decide to dress up or dress down, this is completely up to you, as long as your comfortable and happy and your outfits don't detract from you as a family. I prefer textures over prints, so laces or woolly jumpers add interesting texture to you images, this is not saying print doesn't have it's place, soft floral's can equally be pretty for your session, as long as you don't have conflicting patterns.
Little children are super easy to dress, or not dress at all, in some cases! We can do bums showing, nappy's only (I have nappy covers available if needed) to simple little rompers or bodysuits. I find dressing them in a simple newborns and babies in plain outfit works so much nicer than bold colour's or prints.
I do have a small collection of neutral rompers at my studio available to borrow during your session, as well some maternity clothing such as long lace skirts and a gown for showing off that bump perfectly in your photos.
